Notts Hotshots Cheer & Dance Academy was founded in 2014 with one ambition: to create somewhere athletes could learn, progress, compete and genuinely feel that they belonged.
What began as a small local programme has grown into a thriving academy welcoming more than 260 athletes from Nottingham, Nottinghamshire and across the wider East Midlands.
Our story began locally in Eastwood before the programme grew into the dedicated cheer and dance academy we now call home in Watnall.
The teams, facility, opportunities and ambitions have grown, but the purpose behind Hotshots has stayed remarkably simple. We want athletes to enjoy what they do, be proud of their progress and have people around them who believe in what they can become.
Some athletes arrive wanting a fun activity and a new group of friends. Others arrive with dreams of national competitions and international stages. Both journeys matter.
Every athlete's Hotshots story can look different. That's exactly how it should be.

Cheerleading
Stunts, tumbling, jumps, dance and performance come together in a team sport built around trust, commitment and progression.
Hip-Hop
High-energy choreography, musicality and performance for dancers developing confidence, teamwork and presence on the competition floor.
Lyrical
Technique, expression, musicality and storytelling combine to create a programme where dancers can develop and perform.
Tumbling
Progressive floor-based training for beginners, cheerleaders, gymnasts and athletes looking to develop stronger tumbling technique.
You Don't Have To Be Competitive To Become A Hotshot.
Our recreational and introductory classes give children a place to try cheer and dance, learn new skills and build confidence without joining a competition team. Explore all of our current beginner-friendly classes and find the right place to start.

Hotshots athletes compete throughout the UK. Selected teams within our programme have also earned bids to major international events, creating opportunities for athletes to represent Notts Hotshots beyond the UK competition floor.

Our job is to give athletes somewhere they can keep learning and a pathway that can grow with them.

Our dedicated academy is based at Headstocks Industrial Park in Watnall, Nottinghamshire. Athletes travel to Hotshots from communities across Nottinghamshire and the wider region each week.
