Show & Go
A dynamic stunt transition where the group drives through a higher position before immediately returning to a lower controlled position. Show & Go technique teaches explosive timing, extended-line awareness and the ability to change height without losing group connection.
What Is a Show & Go?
A stunt that temporarily passes through a higher position before immediately returning to a lower position.
The group should show a recognisable high position rather than simply bouncing the flyer upward.
The skill relies heavily on matched base timing, flyer tension and a controlled change of direction.
Drive Up — Then Redirect Together
Matched Dip
Power starts from one shared loading rhythm.
Finish the Drive
Do not stop short before the higher position is shown.
Stay Stacked
Maintain body tension as the platform changes height.
Redirect Together
The downward phase should remain controlled and synchronised.
Strong vs Weak Show & Go
✓ Strong
- Matched dip and drive.
- Clear high position.
- Flyer stays stacked.
- No excessive arch.
- Group redirects together.
- Return position is stable.
- Multiple groups match.
✕ Weak
- Bases dip at different times.
- Skill looks like a bounce.
- Flyer folds or arches.
- One base finishes early.
- Return crashes downward.
- Groups hit different heights.

Useful Cues & Drills
Dip Timing
Rehearse dip and extension without a full transition.
Prep → Extension Hold
Confirm the group can actually hit the high position first.
Multi-Group Video
Compare height and timing across the routine.
Common Problems & Fixes
| Problem | Likely Cause | Check | Training Direction |
|---|---|---|---|
| Does not reach high position | Incomplete drive | Leg extension | Return to full extension mechanics. |
| Flyer falls forward | Body not stacked | Hips over feet | Rebuild vertical flyer position. |
| Return crashes | Group stops controlling downward phase | Redirection | Train return separately. |
| Groups hit different heights | Power/timing inconsistent | Dip count | Clean as a whole team. |
| Stunt travels | Drive not vertical | Base and flyer centre | Rebuild straight-up pathway. |
IASF Scoring Context
Height Is Not Enough
Stability, execution and synchronisation still matter during a temporary high position. A rushed transition can lower the technical impression of the stunt section.
Useful Comparative Ingredient
Pace, transitions, combinations and additional skills are expressly considered when teams are compared within their difficulty range.
